How does an Alpha-ROM protected application authenticate itself?
The Alpha-ROM Digital Signature is added, using CD/DVD-ROM physical spec.
It distinguishes the authentic discs from copied ones.
Authentication process takes about 3~5 seconds and there is no need to reboot
or type additional serial number.

What are the Alpha-ROM authentication options?
Alpha-ROM has the following authentication options.
Online Authentication : Online authentication can be provided via
Active X Control (OCX) The service provider can provide special online services
  to authentic users.
1 Time Authentication : At the first run, authentication is carried out. After that,
the disc is not needed every time to run the application.
¡Ø Counts and period of authentication can be configured.

Can an Alpha-ROM protected application be copied with copying tools?
The contents in the Alpha-ROM discs can be copied with copying tools such as
CloneCD, Alcohol, BlindWrite, etc. However, the digital signature can not be copied.
Therefore, when a copied disc runs, authentication process will fail with an error
message. The application will abort.

Can Alpha-ROM be applied to a network supported application?
Yes. Alpha-ROM supports a network supported application as long as each user
has an original disc to install and initialize the application locally.

Is it possible to create protected patches for an Alpha-ROM protected
  application?
Yes, one can create a patch for a protected application.
An application patch should be encrypted in the same project as the protected
application. The new protected patch can be placed on a webpage for end-users
to download. A protected application will still launch only if the authentic disc
is in the drive.

What disc formats does Alpha-ROM support?

Alpha-ROM is capable of protecting a multi-disc program by adding the same
Alpha-ROM signature to all discs. It will allow te program to be launched from
any disc. Also you may select a disc to protect and produce rest of the discs
as normal discs.
